Who is IEC for?
IEC is designed around Indigenous youth and welcomes all students, including those who are still figuring out their next step. Families, educators and communities can support the journey. Sharing Indigenous identity is voluntary; students do not need to prove their identity to explore.
Can I look beyond my home province?
Yes. IEC’s scope is Canada-wide: universities, colleges, polytechnics, Indigenous institutes, trades and training. You can begin with a school, a career, a program or an interest—even if you are unsure. Our aim is to help you consider culture, community, costs and supports alongside your options.
How will students get access?
Our planned model centres on organizations sponsoring eligible students, with individual access for students who need it. A seven-day Explorer Pass without a credit card is also planned. Prices, eligibility and launch availability are still being finalized. Contact IEC to discuss community access.
Can a sponsor see my private activity?
Sponsorship must not automatically reveal your searches, saved programs, interests or personal plans. An organization may know that you activated sponsored access. Any further sharing must be intentional and clearly explained. Detailed privacy and consent controls are still being developed.
Does IEC handle my applications?
IEC is being built to help you explore and prepare. Applications, admission decisions and funding approvals remain with the relevant institution or provider.
