How IEC Works
You don’t need your whole future figured out. IEC brings Canada-wide education pathways, culture and community into one journey—helping you move from “I’m not sure” toward a next step that feels right for you.
01. Explore What Interests You
Start with a subject you enjoy, a skill you want to learn or a career you’re curious about. Explore universities, colleges, Indigenous institutes, trades and training close to home or across Canada. It’s okay to keep your options open.
02. Compare What Matters
Look at admission requirements, costs, funding, location and Indigenous student supports. Consider the Nations, territories and community around each destination. The right fit includes what you want to learn and where you can feel connected.
03. Build Your Compass
Your Compass is designed to bring the options you care about into a personal plan. Gather possibilities, identify what you need to learn and return to your choices as your interests grow. You set the direction, and you can change your mind.
04. Choose Your Next Step
Choose one useful action: check a required course, explore a scholarship, contact an Indigenous student centre or speak with someone you trust. Confirm current requirements and deadlines with the official provider before applying. Move forward at your own pace.

IEC is designed around Indigenous youth, and all students are welcome. Indigenous identity is voluntary. You choose what to share and who to involve; sponsorship never grants automatic access to your personal information.
